Job Description

Overview

Our client in Scarborough, Ontario is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Assistant to join their procurement team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in procurement of raw materials and machine components, ensuring that production receives the necessary materials and parts according to schedule.

Dayshift: 8 am to 5 pm

Payrate: ,K depending on experience

Duties

Request quotes and issue POs based on MRP requirements
Monitor and manage stock levels of raw materials
Manage vendor relations with multiple suppliers
Communicate effectively with our production team and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and alignment on project goals.
Maintain organized records of all purchasing materials and documentation.
Source and procure certain custom parts and specialty materials
Follow up with vendors to ensure compliance to critical lead times and expedite delays.

Requirements

Background in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Technology or similar
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Experience with RFQ and Purchasing processes
Experience with MRP/ERP software is a bonus
