Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and manage all purchasing and strategic sourcing activities in support of a growing manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring materials, components, and services are sourced at the right quality, cost, and delivery timelines while building strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.

The successful candidate will foster strong communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers while demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and sound procurement practices. This position plays a key role in supporting operational excellence and achieving organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the organization's operational, financial, and growth objectives.
  • Serve as the primary decision-maker for procurement and sourcing activities, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, contract administration, and supplier performance management.
  • Lead purchasing activities to ensure materials, components, and services are available to support production schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments.
  • Drive cost savings, value improvement, and supply chain risk mitigation initiatives without compromising quality, safety, or supplier reliability.
  • Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, tariffs, and supply chain risks, implementing proactive mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with Engineering/Design, Production, Sales, Quality, and Finance teams to support business objectives while maintaining established procurement policies and sourcing processes.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract administration skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, and production-driven purchasing.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience sourcing fabricated components, raw materials, or engineered products is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's licence and passport, with the ability to travel occasionally and work outside regular business hours as needed.
