  • Analyze purchasing trends, supplier performance, pricing, and inventory data to identify savings, improve planning, and support business decisions.
  • Investigate and resolve procurement issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, invoice discrepancies, and service concerns.
  • Support vendor onboarding, supplier evaluations, contract administration, and negotiations to secure reliable service and favourable terms.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, purchasing procedures, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.

  • Build effective working relationships with vessel crews, vendors, warehouse personnel, and internal stakeholders.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Key Competencies Required:

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience purchasing technical, industrial, marine, mechanical, electrical, maintenance-related, or operational materials is a strong asset.
  • Experience in marine transportation, transportation, manufacturing, construction, or industrial operations is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with reporting, data analysis, ERP, procurement, inventory, or maintenance management systems is an asset.
  • SCMP designation or other procurement/supply chain certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating accuracy, sound judgment, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Special Notes:

  • Work is primarily office-based, with occasional supplier visits, vessel visits, and travel within Canada.
  • Periodic work outside regular business hours may be required to support operations.
  • McKeil offers a hybrid work environment, subject to company policies and operational requirements.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive salary, comprehensive total rewards, group benefits, and retirement savings programs.
  • Opportunities for professional growth, learning, and career development.
  • Hybrid work environment and a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a growing Canadian marine transportation organization that values innovation, safety, and operational excellence.
