Job description

As a rapidly growing company,Our client sees its patented products retailed across major hardware stores throughout Canada, the U.S., and internationally.

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will assist the procurement team with supply chain operations, freight logistics, and customs compliance.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Order Management: Evaluate MRP purchase recommendations and issue purchase orders to suppliers.

Technical Support: Distribute product specifications and technical data sheets to vendors and subcontractors.

Cost Verification: Ensure supplier pricing aligns strictly with established agreements and contracts.

Delivery & Order Tracking: Follow up on open purchase orders, secure confirmations, ensure on-time delivery, and update the ERP system accordingly.

Proactive Problem Solving: Communicate potential supply disruptions (delays, quality issues, availability) and propose actionable solutions.

Receiving Cover: Perform system inventory receiving during vacation periods and investigate discrepancies.

Non-Conformance Management: Work closely with the Purchasing Manager and vendors to resolve shipping errors or defective materials.

Inventory Optimization: Collaborate with the team to eliminate stockouts and streamline replenishment strategies.

Import Operations: Monitor international shipping containers and keep tracking reports up to date.

Interdepartmental Procurement: Process internal purchase requisitions across sales, marketing, quality, and production teams.

Vendor Performance: Track and maintain vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Freight Coordination: Arrange specialized transportation (supplier pickups, product returns, local freight).

Document Management: Develop and maintain an organized physical and digital filing system.

General Support: Perform other related duties as assigned to support procurement operations.

Qualifications
Education: Associate's Degree (DEC) in Business Administration or a related field;

Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in procurement or purchasing;

Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems;

Software: Strong command of the MS Office Suite, specifically advanced-intermediate to expert skills in Excel;

Soft Skills: Highly organized, strong ability to prioritize tasks, detail-oriented, and self-motivated;

Language Abilities: Professional working fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) to liaise with international vendors;

Industry Experience: Background in a manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
