The Opportunity :
The Finance Manager, Procurement provides financial leadership and strategic partnership across Procurement, Commercial, and Revenue Management teams to drive profitability and cost efficiency at Maple Leaf Foods. This role oversees the financial performance of purchasing and sourcing activities, with a primary focus on packaging, ingredients, co-manufactured products, and raw meats.
Acting as a trusted advisor, the Finance Manager translates market trends and sourcing strategies into actionable financial insights that connect day-to-day procurement decisions to P&L outcomes. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role that supports informed decision-making, strong financial governance, and long-term value creation.

Compensation : $94, - $, CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life :
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and reporting for procurement activities, delivering clear insights into spending, savings, and cost drivers.
- Partner closely with Procurement leaders to support supplier negotiations, sourcing strategies, and contract management through robust financial analysis.
- Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and margin enhancement.
- Produce and interpret procurement performance reporting, including KPIs such as purchase price variances (PPVs), cost reductions, claims, and rebates.
- Provide detailed analysis of procurement cost impacts at a GPA$ level, supporting pricing actions, margin management, and profitability decisions.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management and Commercial teams to translate cost movements into strategic pricing and revenue insights.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives through financial evaluations, including make-versus-buy decisions, supplier investments, and category planning.
- Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies, support audits and risk assessments.
- Contribute financial insight to long-term initiatives, including capital projects and enterprise cost optimization programs.
What You’ll Bring :
Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (required)3–5 years of progressive finance experience in a supply chain or procurement environmentDemonstrated experience in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controlsStrong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into business insightsTechnology-savvy mindset with strong aptitude for working in ERP systems and data analysis tools (SAP preferred)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across functionsStrong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentA proactive, curious self-starter with confidence to challenge assumptions, ask questions, and drive continuous improvementPrior experience in food manufacturing is considered an assetWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods :
