For more than 850,000 people throughout the eastern Greater Toronto Area, this will mean quicker access to the safest, highest quality healthcare, right here in Scarborough. We operate three full-service hospitals and several community-based locations, with essential services including emergency, diagnostic imaging, surgery, and rehabilitation care.
Position: Full Time Patrol Guard
Site: Scarborough Birchmount Hospital | 3030 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough, ON M1W 3W3
Overtime Method: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
Hours: Continental Nights 1900-0700
Payrate: $18.73/hour
Key responsibilities:
·Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
·Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities
·Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
·Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises
·Greeting and assisting visitors, patients, and hospital staff
·De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally
·Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately
·Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved
·Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed
Prerequisites:
·Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
·Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
·Covid Vaccine two doses
·Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training
·English (oral and written) fluency is a must
·Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
·Legally authorized to work in Canada
