Job description
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Payroll Administrator to join our centralized, in-house team of 15 payroll professionals. Supporting our operations across all provinces in Canada, this role is crucial for executing high-volume weekly hourly (unionized) and bi-weekly salaried payrolls for our 5,000+ national workforce.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical capability, complex problem-solving skills, and deep familiarity with multi-provincial payroll legislation within the construction or related services sectors.

Advantages
Base Salary: $58,000 – $62,500 (Up to $65,000 for an exceptional candidate who ticks every requirement).
Vacation: 3 weeks of paid annual vacation.
Pension: Up to a 5% company matching pension contribution.
Benefits: Comprehensive benefit plan starting on Day 1.
Work Model: Hybrid. 3 days onsite at the office, 2 days remote. (Note: 100% onsite required during the initial 3-month probationary/training period).

Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process multi-provincial, in-house weekly payroll for hourly staff and bi-weekly payroll for salaried staff.
- Union & Benefits Administration: Manage heavy union remittances, trade-specific wage schedules, and comprehensive benefits calculations across diverse collective agreements.
- Government Remittances: Ensure strict compliance and timely execution of all federal and provincial government remittances, including specialized requirements for Quebec (Revenu Québec).
- System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Act as a technical resource within JD Edwards (JDE) to investigate system backend issues, resolve processing errors, and optimize workflow.
- Month-End & Compliance: Generate, balance, and reconcile payroll reports for strict month-end and year-end close procedures.

Qualifications
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of robust, high-volume payroll experience. Experience with in-house processing in a large corporate setting is heavily preferred over outsourced payroll environments.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working within construction, civil, mechanical, electrical, or facilities management fields is highly desirable.
- Technical Compliance: Proven experience handling unionized payroll and multi-provincial regulations.
- Education/Designation: Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is highly preferred, or actively working toward completion. Background or courses in CPA/CG is a strong plus.
- ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is considered a major asset and competitive advantage.

Summary
How to Apply: > Interested candidates are invited to submit their updated resume to Sainath.maddi@randstad.ca, ensuring the job title is clearly stated in the subject line.

Please note that while we appreciate all applications, only candidates meeting the required qualifications will be contacted for an interview.
