Job description

Are you an energetic warehouse professional who thrives in an active, independent environment? Our client in Markham is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join their dynamic team. In this specialized role within our growing manufacturing & logistics sector, you will be the go-to person ensuring the facility operates smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently. This is a temporary ongoing position with an immediate start, offering a guaranteed duration of at least 3 months, with a strong possibility of being extended based on your performance and shifting business needs.

As a Warehouse Associate in this specific facility, your day-to-day duties will feature a unique blend of responsibilities designed to maintain an organized and productive logistics hub. Approximately 70% of your daily tasks will focus on industrial housekeeping and cleaning. This essential part of the role includes maintaining aisle cleanliness, removing debris, sorting waste, wiping down equipment, and ensuring that all work zones meet top-tier safety compliance. The remaining 30% of your role will involve core warehouse and material handling tasks. These tasks include loading and unloading shipments, receiving incoming inventory, sorting production parts, picking orders, and packing items for dispatch. From time to time, you will also be required to use a counterbalance forklift to safely transport heavier goods across the floor. You will work within a small, supportive team, but you will largely manage your routine independently, making self-motivation and a strong work ethic key components of your success.

Located near the major intersection of Woodbine & 14th Ave in Markham, the facility is situated in an industrial commercial corridor that is unfortunately not situated on a direct public transit bus route. Because there is no active bus route nearby, it is highly ideal and recommended that the successful candidate possesses a reliable personal vehicle to ensure consistent attendance for the regular daily shift. The shift runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, giving you a stable routine with weekends off. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $19 per hour, which is paid weekly, providing financial stability while you build valuable, versatile experience within the manufacturing & logistics industry.

Job title - Warehouse Associate / Cleaner
Major intersection - Woodbine & 14th Ave (Markham)
Shift: 8 AM to 5 PM
Pay rate: $19/hr Monday through Friday
Temporary, 3 months

Advantages
• Competitive pay rate of $19 per hour with convenient and reliable weekly pay schedules.
• Full-time hours with a stable, straight morning shift from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Temporary ongoing contract for at least 3 months with excellent potential for long-term extension.
• Free on-site parking available for all employees with personal vehicles.
• Immediate start date allowing you to begin working and earning right away.
• Opportunity to build versatile experience across both industrial housekeeping and manufacturing & logistics frameworks.
• Direct support and regular career check-ins from expert Randstad recruiters who care about your professional well-being.

Responsibilities
• Dedicate 70% of the daily shift to comprehensive warehouse housekeeping, cleaning, sweeping, and maintaining organized waste disposal zones.
• Allocate 30% of working hours to core material handling duties, including receiving inventory, sorting industrial parts, and order picking-pack.
• Perform manual loading and unloading of industrial products off skids, pallets, and incoming delivery trucks.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently to transport heavier inventory and pallets across the warehouse floor when required.
• Maintain exceptionally high accuracy during inventory control checks, shipping/receiving tasks, and data logging.
• Follow all established health and safety procedures rigidly, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Work independently to ensure the cleanliness of the warehouse keeps pace with fast-moving manufacturing & logistics demands.
• Identify and report any facility maintenance issues or safety hazards immediately to the warehouse management team.

Qualifications
• Previous practical experience in manual shipping/receiving, general warehouse environments, or industrial housekeeping.
• Prior experience or a valid certification for operating a counterbalance forklift is a strong asset.
• Must own and wear CSA-approved steel-toed safety shoes or boots on the active warehouse floor.
• Physical ability to comfortably and safely lift up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout an eight-hour shift.
• Possession of a reliable personal vehicle is highly ideal, as the Markham facility is not on a direct transit bus route.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada for the full duration of this temporary ongoing contract.
