Job Description:

Help Shape the Future of Work at Algonquin College | Join Algonquin College: A Forbes Best Employer (2026), Recognized for an Exceptional Workplace Culture and Named One of Canada's Best Employers for Diversity.

There has never been a more exciting time to join our People and Technology team and help shape the future of education. Are you a strategic thinker, trusted advisor, workforce planner, and talent innovator who is excited about what's next? New technologies, and changing workforce expectations are transforming how organizations attract, engage, and retain talent.

At Algonquin College, we're leading this transformation and have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and future-thinking HR professional to help drive that transformation. We're seeking someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Someone who is equally comfortable leading executive searches, analyzing workforce trends, leveraging AI-powered recruitment tools, and providing strategic advisement to people leaders on talent decisions that will impact the College for years to come.

As our Senior Partner, Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future workforce of one of Canada's leading colleges. This is more than a talent acquisition position. It's an opportunity to influence workforce strategy, leverage emerging technologies, partner with senior leaders, and help create exceptional employee and learner experiences.

What You'll Be Doing…

Lead Strategic Talent Acquisition

You'll oversee full-cycle recruitment across a wide range of positions, from specialized operational roles to senior leadership and executive appointments.

You will:

  • Design and execute innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies

  • Build diverse talent pipelines aligned with current and future workforce needs

  • Partner closely with People Leaders to identify talent gaps and hiring priorities

  • Deliver exceptional candidate and hiring manager experiences

  • Advance Algonquin College's position as an employer of choice

Drive Workforce Planning & Workforce Management

Talent acquisition is only part of the equation.

You'll help ensure the College has the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.

You will:

  • Support workforce forecasting and staffing plans across a 12-month horizon

  • Monitor workforce trends and resource requirements

  • Provide recommendations on workforce allocation and talent strategies

  • Interpret collective agreements and staffing requirements to support operational decisions

  • Help leaders balance service delivery, workforce capacity, and organizational priorities

Leverage AI & Data to Improve Hiring

We believe technology should enhance the human experience, not replace it.

You'll help us explore and expand the use of AI and digital recruitment tools to create more efficient, inclusive, and scalable hiring processes.

You will:

  • Utilize the HRIS and recruitment technologies to optimize workflows

  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to improve sourcing, outreach, candidate engagement, and process efficiency

Be a Trusted Advisor

As a Senior HR Partner, you'll influence hiring decisions at every level of the organization.

You will:

  • Coach and advise leaders on recruitment strategies and market trends

  • Deliver training and guidance on inclusive hiring practices and selection techniques

  • Support leaders in embedding equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging into recruitment decisions

  • Provide advisory support on workforce planning and talent-related challenges

  • Partner with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement

We're looking for someone who sees talent acquisition & workforce management as a strategic business function, not an administrative process.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Credentials

  • Four (4) year degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field, Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Professional HR or recruitment designation/certification such as CHRP/CHRL, or RPR an asset

Key qualifications include:

  • Experience working with HRIS platforms, preferably Workday

  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter and other digital sourcing tools

  • Demonstrated ability to manage workforce operations in fast-paced, high-volume, or rapidly changing environments where critical staffing decisions must be made quickly and effectively

  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on optimizing processes and enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience
