Job Title: Project Manager – Banking (Contract)
Location: Halifax, Canada

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with 7+ years of experience to lead and deliver complex initiatives within the banking domain. This is a contract role based in Halifax, focused on driving end-to-end project execution, stakeholder alignment, and successful delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of banking-related projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Define project scope, goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
Manage cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, QA, and external vendors.
Establish and maintain project governance, reporting structures, and communication plans.
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure transparency and alignment.
Ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, and security standards.
Track project performance using appropriate tools and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and best practices.

Must Have Skills & Experience

7+ years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on the banking or financial services domain.
Proven track record of successfully delivering medium to large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of banking systems, processes, and regulatory requirements.
Experience managing full project lifecycle (initiation to closure).
Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong risk management and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, or similar.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.

Good to Have

Experience working with Canadian banking institutions or regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with digital banking, payments, or core banking transformation projects.
Exposure to data analytics, reporting tools, or cloud-based platforms.
Knowledge of change management practices and tools.
Experience in vendor and contract management.
Scrum Master or Agile certifications are an asset.
