Our client in the public sector is looking for a contract based Network Security Engineer with specialized experience in migrating older Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to Cisco Firepower IPS, part of the Cisco Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS).

Key Responsibilities :
Lead the migration of older IPS platforms to Cisco Firepower IPS, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
Collaborate with internal resources managing the Cisco ASA to Cisco FTD (Firepower Threat Defense) migration, integrating IPS functionalities into the new Firepower architecture.
Design, configure, and implement Cisco Next-Generation IPS solutions tailored to organizational security needs.
Provide technical guidance and support during the migration process, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Document migration processes, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to train internal teams on the Cisco Firepower IPS platform.
Requirements :
Proven experience in network security engineering with a focus on Cisco Firepower IPS.
Hands-on experience migrating older IPS platforms to Cisco Firepower IPS or similar Cisco NGIPS technologies.
Deep knowledge of Cisco security products, including Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Cisco ASA.
Strong understanding of intrusion prevention systems, network protocols, and security best practices.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a network security environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and adapt to dynamic project requirements.
Ideally : Cisco certifications such as CCNP Security, Cisco Firepower, or equivalent.
Experience with large-scale IPS migrations in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with other Cisco security features and tools.
