StrategyCorp Ottawa is looking for a new Government Relations Consultant to join our team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

The successful candidate will have a good first‐hand knowledge of the federal and provincial governments and national politics and shares our passion for delving into complex issues that require strategic thinking, problem solving, and a good understanding of communications tools and best practices.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED TO POSSESS : Excellent writing with superior attention to detail – particularly taking complex subjects and relaying them in clear, concise formats Demonstrated critical thinking skills and aptitude for problem‐solving Strong decision‐making abilities within the scope of the position and areas of responsibilities Demonstrates ability to take initiative and sound independent judgment Ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines, under pressure, as part of a team Exemplary customer service skills, including dealing effectively with clients, elected officials, and government / political staffs Knowledge of the machinery of governments (municipal, provincial, and federal), the public sector, and the private sector Ability to organize own work, co‐ordinate projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow‐up on assignments with a minimum of direction Excellent research skills to pursue topics through various online / offline sources Core math skills is an asset Experience in management consulting and business strategy is an asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) HERE ARE THE MUST HAVES : 2‐3 years of work experience Experience in public policy development Familiarity with major public policy issues and the political environment Experience in consulting is an asset A BIT MORE ABOUT US : At StrategyCorp, strategy is at the foundation of everything we do.
