We are currently seeking a Document Controller, based out of either Edmonton, Calgary or Saskatoon to join our project team executing a Potash mining project in Saskatchewan. As a Document Controller working in an Integrated Program Management Team (IPMT) within the Owner’s team, you will support a major capital project within an EPCM environment. In this role, you will manage the flow, accuracy, and accessibility of project documentation using an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). You’ll be responsible for document version control, metadata management, workflow coordination, and ensuring compliance with project standards—playing a key role in maintaining project efficiency, traceability, and audit readiness. As we continue to expand our national footprint, we’re proud to build a long‑term presence in Saskatoon. Our new Saskatoon office is a strategic cornerstone in our multi‑sector growth plan, enabling us to support mining, energy transition, and industrial projects across Saskatchewan and Western Canada. By joining Bantrel, you become part of a team shaping the future, strengthening project capability, opening new opportunities, and building on our long‑standing experience in potash and mining across the province. You’ll be part of an organization committed to Saskatchewan for the long term.
Bantrel is working with K+S Potash Canada (K+S) as an Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) to expand production at K+S’s Bethune solution potash mine near Moose Jaw and Regina, Saskatchewan. The final production capacity is intended to grow over the next decades to 4M tonnes per year, doubling the current production output of potash. Key team members will support the project from the K+S head office in Saskatoon and at Bethune mine, with additional support from Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto as required.
Join us in this full time permanent role and be a champion of diversity and inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the flow, quality, and integrity of project documentation using an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), ensuring compliance with project standards and procedures.
- Perform quality checks on engineering and supplier documents, ensuring accurate metadata attribution and version control.
- Monitor and audit document attributes and metadata for accuracy, resolving discrepancies with responsible parties to maintain project timelines.
- Coordinate document number reservations and ensure consistency across technical and non-technical scopes.
- Provide training and day-to-day support to internal and external stakeholders on EDMS usage and document control best practices.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless document handover and traceability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in document control within engineering, construction, or infrastructure project environments.
- Proven experience working with EDMS platforms in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project setting.
- Experienced in SharePoint, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio). Aconex is an asset.
