Job description

Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets as well as our vast expertise in the field allow us to actively participate in large-scale projects such as the Samuel-De-Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) and the Site C hydro-electric power station located near Fort St-John in British Columbia.

Our seasoned team of engineers, project managers and other specialists also put their energy into the construction of wind farms and to the benefit of hydroelectric projects such as dams, power stations, tunnels and dikes. This position is for our Ladore Project located in Campbell River, British Columbia. Candidates must be willing and able to report to the construction site to be considered for this opportunity.

The candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that construction plans meet the guidelines and specifications outlined in the contract.

As a Field Engineer at EBC you will:

  • Read technical and administrative project specifications;
  • Inspect work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards;
  • Inform the Project Manager of project development and discuss methods planned with him and the Superintendent;
  • Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Job Superintendent;
  • Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting;
  • Prepare daily reports related to the crew, progress, and issues;
  • Provide document control for correspondence, submittals, RFI’s, NCR, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of final records for the project, including as-builts;
  • Organize and participate in various meetings;
  • Establish and keep necessary communications between suppliers, sub-contractors, professionals, and client;
  • Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to the project;



Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology;
  • Related job experience of 1-3 years in construction field engineering on Infrastructure projects;
  • Advanced skills in written and oral English language;
  • Willingness to travel extensively;
  • Ability to climb, work at various heights and work outdoors in all weather;
  • Advanced skills in communication and problem solving;
  • Initiative and leadership;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam
