Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Payroll Clerk to join our head office team in Conestogo. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in payroll and accounting. The successful candidate will support the payroll function across multiple properties, helping to ensure GolfNorth employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with applicable legislation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple locations and provinces.
- Verify time entries, wage calculations, and employee data for accuracy
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity within payroll systems
- Support administration of employee deductions, benefits, and government remittances
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with year-end processes, including T4 preparation and reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams on payroll-related matters
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field
- Basic understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Enrollment in or completion of the National Payroll Institute (NPI) Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification considered an asset
- Experience with payroll software systems considered an asset
- Familiarity with multi-location or hospitality industry payroll
