Job description
Project Controller

Support major mining projects across the Americas and Europe in a global, collaborative environment. This 12-month hybrid contract offers exposure to budgeting, forecasting, cost control, SAP, and project reporting while working with international stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

What is in it for you:

• Salaried: $67-77 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $80-90 per hour.
• 12-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• Hybrid schedule with only 1 in-office day per week.
• Schedule from 7 am to 3 pm, with flexibility to support the AMR and EMEA regions.
• Self-managed schedule to meet business needs across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the AMR and EMEA Project Controls Lead.
• Perform monthly project control activities for assigned projects using the designated Project Controls tools.
• Monitor and track project budgets, prepare monthly cost reports, and support forecasting, accruals, and Annual Plan Reviews (APR).
• Support vendor management activities, including invoice verification and invoicing support.
• Coordinate planning activities with Asset Managers and cross-functional teams, including Procurement, HSE, CSP, and Finance.
• Create and track Purchase Requisitions (PR), monitor Purchase Orders (PO), and support Service Entry Sheet (SES) processing.
• Coordinate routine project progress review meetings with Asset Managers.
• Verify and report cost and schedule performance for assigned assets and projects across the AMR and EMEA regions.
• Compile project control reports for stakeholder meetings, project reviews, and routine project control meetings.
• Ensure project control tools, processes, and procedures are applied consistently across assigned projects, as directed.
• Oversee contracted project control resources assigned to specific projects, as directed.
• Support global process improvement initiatives, recruitment activities, and the delivery of regional training sessions and presentations, as directed.

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, or a related field is desirable.
• 5+ years of experience in project controls.
• 5+ years of document control experience.
• Experience managing project control deliverables across multiple concurrent projects within a large organization.
• Experience managing project control activities for a portfolio of projects.
• Knowledge of project management and project controls principles.
• Experience with progress management, earned value management (EVM), forecasting, and accruals.
• Knowledge or experience in change management.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a self-directed environment.
• Bilingual in English and French to collaborate with stakeholders across the AMR and EMEA regions and prepare project documentation in both languages.
