Job Description

Salary Range : $40.24 - $57.68

This is a part-time position to work 12 hours shifts including days evenings nights weekends and statutory holidays. The RN provides direct care to patients within the framework of the Registered Nurse. The RN will work in collaboration with and interact with all members of the Intensive Care Unit multidisciplinary team and other personnel. The RN demonstrates professional responsibility and is accountable for own practice. Demonstrates actions consistent with hospital policies and procedures.

The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to sitting standing walking pushing pulling lifting and bending. The RN contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients staff and visitors. Other duties as per job fact sheet.

Posted hours do not constitute a guarantee that shifts will not be subject to change.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required
  • Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
  • Two (2) years of currentexperience in ICU required
  • BCLS ACLS required
  • Certifications for ECG defibrillation intravenous certification IV medication epidural and pulmonary artery monitoring required
  • Critical Care Program certificate required
  • Excellent physical assessment skills required
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) essential
  • Problem solving ability and crisis intervention skills required
  • Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell would be a definite asset
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required

    The successful external applicant is required to provide the applicable criminal record check as requested by Human Resources in accordance with federal and provincial legislation. Valid criminal record checks are in original format and dated with two months from date of conditional offer from CMH.
