Responsibilities - Support the Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses to inform decision-making.
- Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Develop and improve job costing procedures.
- Analyze and report on cost variances, with a focus on job costing and project financial performance.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline internal processes and boost efficiency.
- Assist with and facilitate external audits, including preparing necessary documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll staff.
- Collaborate with project managers to review and analyze job costs.
- Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial reporting as needed.
Qualifications - CPA designation is a must have
- Construction, manufacturing, automation industry experience is an asset
- Experience with project-based accounting and job costing environments
- Tech-savvy is a must, and implementation experience is ideal
- Ability to work full-time in-office
