Are you a professional accountant looking to lead finance function for successful 4th generation family business? Our client is seeking a Controller with initiative who can solve problems and work effectively with all departments and be the voice of finance for the business.

Reporting to the Ownership Group, you will join a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture and have the ability to make a significant impact with a wide scope of responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include :

• Planning, evaluating & coordinating accounting operational functions, responsible for GL. maintenance and financial reporting.
• Coordinating & preparing internal & external financial statements.
• Coordinating activities of external auditors.
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process.
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
• Overseeing & maintaining compliance with regulatory reporting including payroll taxes, sales tax, income tax, and municipal taxes.
• Cashflow planning and management.
• Prepares and manages the forecast & budget functions; analyzing variances to recommend action plans.
• Oversee A / R, A / P, Payroll accounting functions
• Monitor investment accounts and provide guidance to maximize returns.
