We are seeking bilingual candidates (English / French) for this position

SSP Canada operates multiple restaurants throughout the Ottawa International Airport. The Shared Services Specialist is an administrative based, dual-matrix position that will provide support in finance, accounting and human resources administrative functions within an airport setting. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations of the location but will also work very closely with the respective Regional Controller and Corporate Human Resources leaders.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the activities of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Room, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all payables, transfers, petty cash, and cash control. Also, ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable components including billings, cash receipts application, etc.

Supports Cash counting, Glory Safe servicing, reconciling Vouchers and maintaining Eigen Inventory.

Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.

Work closely with IT staff to attain accurate and necessary reporting from systems.

Perform weekly audit of safe counts in terminal(s).

Ensure that all cash handling and inventory procedures are followed.

Assist in technical training and maintaining of all accounting systems; IT, Lynx, Micros, MyInventory, CrunchTime.

Essential Functions (Human Resources)

Assists in facilitating Hirirng Events.

Handles new employee onboarding including 321 forms and Hub New Hire data entry.

Facilitates Badging, Parking, Uniform inventory management and distribution.

Tracks and facilitates "SSP Academy" Training compliance.

Signatory for SSP America at airport to setup new employee airport credentials, parking, etc. and retrieve upon termination

Handles offboarding for employee terminations.

Skills and Other Requirements

Degree or diploma in Accounting or Human Resources strongly preferred (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 2 years of combined accounting / finance and human resource experience.

Bilingualism (English / French) is required for this role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to work on site at Ottawa International Airport.

Ability to obtain Transport Canada Security Clearance.
