The Role : This entry level position works on-site and contributes to the mission of Community Support Connections by providing support to the Finance and Administration Teams.
This includes accounts payables, payroll and month-end activities.
The Bookkeeper works collaboratively with the Financial Controller and Accounts Receivable, and thrives in a face-paced, dynamic, hands-on environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES Accounts payable – completes all activities related to processing accounts payable, including entering vendor invoices, processing payments via cheque, EFT or online payments Visa Reconciliations Bank Reconciliations Processes employee and volunteer expense reports Payroll – performs all activities related to payroll processing, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time in compliance with relevant legislation and agency policies Prepares remittances such as WSIB, RRSPs, CRA, EHT per the legislated schedule Ensures staff terminations are processed in the payroll software in a timely manner and prepares and submits a Record of Employment (ROE) to Service Canada Assists with T4’s as directed by the Financial Controller Responds to inquiries from staff regarding payroll, vacation, sick time, lieu banks, payroll deductions and tax deductions Assists in month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts Assists in the annual audit Provides back up for accounts receivable / billing QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Post-secondary diploma / degree in accounting preferred Minimum 1 years’ hands on accounting experience Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and Word Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Knowledge of the non-profit / charitable sector is an asset Experience working with NetSuite is asset Excellent communication skills Working Hours & Environment Willing and able to work occasional evenings and weekends Extensive computer use Occasional working from home office If what we do resonates with your core values and this sounds like the challenge you've been waiting for to showcase your accounting abilities, we would love to hear from you!
