Job description

Staff Plus is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for a manufacturing facility in Scarborough, ON.

This is a full-time afternoon-shift opportunity paying $28.00–$33.00 per hour, based on experience. We are looking for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong manufacturing experience who can troubleshoot production equipment, complete mechanical repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and work confidently with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Welding experience is required.

Initial training will take place on the day shift. Occasional overtime or additional maintenance coverage may be required based on operational needs.

Job Type: Full time, ongoing

Location: Scarborough, ON

Pay Rate: $28.00/hour to $33.00/hour, based on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 12:00am, with flexibility to work occasional weekends

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs.
  • Maintain and repair motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Support equipment installations, machinery setup, and mechanical upgrades.
  • Identify recurring equipment problems and assist with root cause analysis.
  • Maintain water heating and cooling systems.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance records using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Assist with troubleshooting motors, controls, electronics, and PLC systems where qualified.
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment as required.
  • Follow all plant health and safety, quality, and maintenance procedures.

  • At least 3 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Welding experience.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Ability to understand work orders, maintenance documentation, and workplace safety instructions.
  • Ability to perform hands-on maintenance work involving standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position

Experience with PLCs, AC/DC motors, motor controls, electronics, forklifts, or scissor lifts is considered an asset.

A 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright or Red Seal certification is also an asset but is not required. Candidates with equivalent hands-on industrial maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.
