If so, we’d love to hear from you! Our client, a premier global transportation and fleet leasing provider, is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Diesel Truck Technician for their Edmonton facility. This is a key position built for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in maintaining a modern fleet to strict factory and safety standards.

As a Licensed Diesel Technician, you will perform high-level preventive maintenance, carry out complex diagnostics, and overhaul major components in a modern, supportive shop environment.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Edmonton, AB
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Day Shift)
Environment: Modern Fleet Repair Shop / Non-Unionized
Wage: $44.00 to $48.00 per hour (Plus shift premiums: 2nd Shift +$3/hr, 3rd Shift +$4/hr, Weekend +$3/hr)

Responsibilities
What will you be doing?

Preventive Maintenance: Perform complete scheduled inspections, servicing, and routine maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers.

Major Overhauls & Component Repair: Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, fuel systems, and turbochargers.

Advanced Diagnostics: Inspect and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, brake, and steering systems using computerized diagnostic equipment.

CVIP Inspections: Conduct thorough safety checks and sign off on CVIP inspections to ensure full fleet operational readiness and compliance.

Documentation & Warranty: Identify warrantable repairs and accurately document repair details on digital work orders.

Shop Safety: Maintain clean, hazard-free work areas while adhering to strict factory dimensions, tolerances, and safety protocols.

Qualifications
What are we looking for in a candidate?

Certification: Valid Red Seal (RSE) or Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician certification; must be able to sign off on CVIP inspections.

Experience: 5+ years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance and repair experience (specialized OEM/component training is a asset).

Driver's License: Valid Class 5 driver's license required (Class 3 / Class D with air brake endorsement preferred or attainable within 6 months).

Technical Tools: Must own a complete set of personal trade tools; proficient with diagnostic instruments, power tools, and welding equipment.

Background Checks: Must pass a standard driver's abstract check (no criminal record check or pre-hire drug & alcohol test required).

Physical Capability: Comfortable working in shop conditions, including regular lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and occasional heavy lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
