  • Preparing attendance lists and meeting minutes for various meetings, including Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings

  • Supporting EHS training bookings, scheduling, and facility arrangements

  • Assisting in planning and developing events such as safety stand-down meetings and EHS campaigns

  • Preparing monthly KPIs, reports, and statistics

  • Maintaining employee training records, including proof of training, expiry dates, and training matrices

  • Conducting office EHS inspections and maintaining office risk assessments

  • Supporting PPE and safety supply inventory management

  • Participating in key initiatives such as mental health committees and office ergonomics improvements

  • Providing administrative support for health and safety claims and inquiries

  • Occasionnal travel to site visits / safety inspections for professional development / program understanding

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Completion of formal university or college education

  • First experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety

  • Knowledge of Canadian EHS legislation

  • Familiarity with the construction industry (considered an asset)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and agility to learn other software systems

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Ability to travel to construction sites occasionally

  • Developed soft skills: initiative, teamwork, communication, and service-mindedness

  • Responsible and honest approach to work

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new safety standards and innovative EHS processes

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and supportive colleagues

  • Contribute to impactful safety and environmental initiatives

  • Utilise our inclusive and dynamic working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning programs

  • Progress towards roles in EHS leadership or project management

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)
