The Opportunity
TheManager, Product Developmentplays a key role in shaping and supporting Aviva Canada’s Personal Insurance (PI) product portfolio. This position blends strategic insight with hands‑on execution, leading select initiatives while delivering the analytical and research support needed to enhance product competitiveness and customer value.
Working closely with Senior Product Managers and cross‑functional partners, the role helps ensure products remain market‑relevant, financially sustainable, and aligned with evolving customer and business needs.

What you'll do:
Support Product Strategy & Delivery: Assist in planning and execution of product reviews, contributing insights and recommendations to improve, simplify, or retire offerings
Lead Targeted Initiatives: Independently manage product enhancements or ad-hoc initiatives from concept through implementation, championing the voice of the customer
Research & Analysis: Conduct competitive benchmarking, performance analysis, and customer insight reviews to identify trends and opportunities
Enable Innovation: Contribute to emerging propositions, by supporting analysis, business case development, and financial modeling
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with underwriting, pricing, data science, claims, marketing, operations, risk and IT to ensure smooth delivery of product changes
Performance Monitoring: Assist in tracking KPIs, operational metrics, and customer experience data to inform continuous improvement
Product Governance: Actively manage the product review roadmap, ensuring adherence to processes, templates and controls, while finding opportunities to streamline the governance framework
Market Awareness: Maintain regular updates on competitor and industry developments to support proactive product positioning
What you'll bring:
Undergraduate degree in business or other related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience with personal P&C insurance
Candidates with prior experience in insurance product development and/or product management preferred
Personal Insurance Expertise: Solid understanding of PI products and familiary of underwriting and regulatory frameworks
Influential Communicator: Skilled at presenting ideas and building consensus across collaborators
Organized & Focused: Proven ability to handle projects with precision and accountability
Data-Driven Analytical Strength: Advanced ability to interpret complex data sets, assess quantitative and qualitative value, and translate insights into actionable strategies
Executive-Level Reporting: Capable of distilling key findings into clear, concise recommendations for senior leadership
Proactive & Self-Starter: Demonstrated ability to independently research, engage external partners, and uncover new product opportunities
What you’ll get:
The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $125,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
