Job description

Lead. Optimize. Grow.

Are you ready to take full ownership of a high-impact operation and drive real results? This is your opportunity to lead a dynamic warehouse facility where strategy meets execution and where your leadership directly impacts performance, people, and profitability.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, understand the dynamics of union operations, and want full ownership of an operation, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.

As General Manager, you will provide strategic direction and hands-on operational leadership for a small to mid-sized warehouse with broad responsibilities and complexity. You’ll own the operation end-to-end while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence remain at the forefront. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple facilities across our British Columbia region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop high-performing teams

  • Provide ongoing performance feedback to drive productivity and engagement

  • Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

  • Lead within a unionized environment, partnering effectively with union representatives and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements

Operational & Financial Performance

  • Deliver on critical KPIs including Labor to Revenue (LTR), truck turn times, and customer service standards

  • Analyze warehouse activities and costs to identify process improvements

  • Manage budgets, capital expenditures, material handling equipment, and space utilization

  • Drive bottom-line results through strategic planning and execution

Business Growth & Customer Focus

  • Partner with Sales to support marketing and new account strategies

  • Participate in prospecting, sales calls, rate development, contract negotiation, and closing

  • Strengthen customer relationships and ensure service excellence

Safety & Quality Excellence

  • Champion food safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance

  • Support proper receipt, storage, handling, and distribution processes

  • Ensure employee health and safety in both cold and dry storage environments

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience)

  • 4+ years of Operations Management experience in Supply Chain or related field

  • Strong experience managing in a unionized environment (highly preferred)

  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic and annual operational plans

  • Strong financial acumen and cost management expertise

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing operational teams

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

  • Strong communication skills — able to present technical information to diverse audiences

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity

The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.

Pay Range:$91,400.00 - $142,700.00
