Description
Major Job Functions :
Business Development & Customer Growth (50%) :
Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow rental market share within the mining industry.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, lead generation, and client acquisition.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including mine operators, contractors, and procurement teams.
Collaborate with internal sales teams to create integrated solutions that meet customer needs.
Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to showcase rental solutions and value propositions.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
Technical Expertise & Solution Development (25%) :
Leverage knowledge of mining operations and equipment to design rental solutions that optimize productivity and reduce costs.
Provide technical guidance on equipment selection, application, and project execution.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards in all rental solutions.
Team Leadership and Development (25%) :
Work closely with rental sales representatives and inside sales teams to support lead generation and project execution.
Mentor and coach team members to enhance technical and commercial capabilities.
Collaborate with operations and fleet management teams to ensure timely delivery and quality service.
Accountability :
Responsible for recognizing and developing business development opportunities and prepare business cases that will deliver growth and value for Finning (Canada).
Responsible for growing revenue as defined in the annual budget.
Represent Rental services in planned and ad-hoc customer meetings, presentations, seminars, etc. in areas of expertise in order to support strategic initiatives.
Key account and National Account management.
Establishing and cultivating an external network for potential business development opportunities of value for Finning, including customers, competitors, partners and suppliers.
Collecting, filtering and providing an initial assessment of development opportunities of potential value for Finning (Canada) including but not limited to acquisitions, partnerships, distribution agreements, alliances, etc.
Responsible for preparation and execution of Material Supply Agreements, Request for Quotes and large contracts.
Together with Regional Operations Management, develop target setting objectives for sales force.
Work closely with the Rental sales force to drive new customers and new opportunities.
Maintain close and open working relationship with Operations management and Corporate Fleet to support customer satisfaction.
Development and implement effective reporting to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed on key project metrics.
Participate in industry association, customer events, and trade shows.
Responsible for Adhere to and provide guidance for all Finning Policies and Procedures.
Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner, maintaining confidentiality and effective relationships with customers, internal departments, CAT and staff.
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
7–10 years of experience in an operational environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the rental industry within the mining sector.
Ability to evaluate market trends and identify opportunities.
Knowledge of contract and risk management principles.
Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and performance management.
Strong Finning business acumen with an understanding of company policies and procedures.
Strategic thinker with experience in strategic planning, implementation, and marketing principles.
Strong grasp of financial management and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, persuasion, networking, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities with the ability to work with employees and business leaders at all levels across internal and external organizations.
Proficient in MS Office applications and internal systems, with the ability to understand technical aspects of products and applications.
