Job description

About CSN Collision:

CSN Collision safely repairs more than 250,000 vehicles a year helping Canadians get back on the road with the trust and comfort of knowing their vehicle has been returned to like new condition. Since 2002, CSN has grown to become the leader in collision repair with over 400 collision repair Centres across Canada, the US and Italy.

Summary

The Training & Development Specialist supports the planning, coordination, development, delivery and continuous improvement of CSN Performance offerings, including training, best practices and engagement opportunities. This role helps ensure training and development resources are well organized, accessible, documented, implemented and continuously improved to support CSN Licensees and CSN Collision staff. The role reports into the Director, Programs and Services.

Description

The Training & Development Specialist works closely with CSN Departmental Leaders, including the Field Operations Team (FOT), and the Director, Programs and Services, to assess training needs, support best practice development, coordinate communication and contribute to the continued development of the training and development function. This is a content development, LMS administration and learning technology role. The Specialist builds eLearning and video-based training end-to-end — often on subject matter they are not already familiar with — and administers the LMS and related systems that deliver, track and report on it.

Primary Objectives:

  • Support the planning and coordination of training and development for CSN Licensees and CSN Corporate Staff.
  • Assist the Director, Programs and Services and People and Culture partners with the Training and Development Plan to help corporate staff and CSN Centres grow and perform.
  • Build eLearning modules end-to-end in Articulate Rise (or comparable), including planning, scripting, design, and publishing.
  • Monitor the quality of the learning experience to help maintain company standards, improve ease of use and understanding, and support participant engagement.
  • Support the assessment of learning delivery methods, including e-learning, remote learning, train-the-trainer and web-based learning, to help ensure the approach is suitable for the audience.
  • Identify learner challenges and potential change management barriers and recommend practical strategies to address them.
  • Support the design and implementation of methods to measure program effectiveness.
  • Participate in needs assessments with internal and external stakeholders to identify training and development priorities and provide recommendations that support business goals.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and industry training providers to understand needs and support training programs that add value to CSN Collision.
  • Administer the LMS day-to-day: course builds and versioning, enrolment rules and automation, user provisioning, troubleshooting, and integration touchpoints with HRIS.
  • Support tracking of planned program costs and help gather information to demonstrate the value of training programs.
  • Share best practices in training design, delivery, innovation and change management with colleagues and stakeholders.

Professional competencies and skills

  • Strong knowledge of asynchronous and self-directed learning design and authoring with the ability to apply it across varied subject matter. Ability to create an effective and inclusive training and development environment for all learners
  • Influence and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to change and support others through training and development initiatives.
  • Data and Reporting: Strong analytical ability and attention to detail, using organized thinking and clear communication skills.
  • Decision Making: Able to make day-to-day decisions independently while understanding when to escalate or seek guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and self-starter attitude, with the ability to be tactful, clear and empathetic communicator.
  • Able to quickly learn customer specific technical applications to train end users
  • Candidate has a critical thinking approach to problem solve and is a forward thinker
  • Able to encourage, motivate and engage learners and stakeholders.
  • Accountable for their own commitments and deliverables, while supporting team priorities.
  • Adaptable in their approach when working with a range of stakeholders and subject matter experts, and comfortable changing direction as input and priorities evolve.
  • Stays current with developments in learning technology, authoring tools and AI, and is open to adopting new methods and tools as they emerge.
