Cowan Insurance Group is looking for a qualified Business Development Representative for our Commercial Lines Sales Team! This role is reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager in Business Development. The Business Development Representative will be responsible for the continual identification and pursuit of sales opportunities for the company, coordinating sales appointments and follow up. The Business Development Representative will work with the Commercial Lines & Group Benefits business leaders to assist in creating opportunities for the sales teams and acquire new clients. You will be a brand ambassador for the company and have the dedication to provide support to the sales teams to deliver results. The goal is to drive sustainable growth through using data driven insights to connect our sales teams to the clients in their respective business areas.
What you will do :
- Support the sales strategy of the Commercial Lines ad Group Benefits business strategy that will initially be focused both on mid to large organizations.
- Research, identify & plan with the provided data on prospective clients, in which we have existing business relationships and or connections.
- Work with current staff and centre of influences, to identify which opportunities have an arms length connection, document, and plan strategy on next steps.
- Work closely with senior management on segment strategies as it relates to growing brand recognition and net new clients within our core industry sectors.
- Identify new internal and external referral sources and centers-of-influence.
- Coordinate with Commercial Account Executives and Group Benefits Consultants to schedule new client meetings.
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients when appropriate.
- Build long-term relationships both inside Cowan and in the community.
