Position Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Radiology department.

Under the direction of the Head Technologist, performs all duties related to general radiography. Assumes the responsibilities of the Head Technologist in their absence.

New Wage : As of April 1, 2024, the new wage is : $36.69 - $45.81 / hour

St. Johns Hospital is a 21 acute-care bed facility. The Hospital serves the communities of Vanderhoof and the Saik’uz First Nation, as well as acting as a referral centre for the surrounding communities of Burns Lake, Fort St James and Fraser Lake.

They are a full service hospital with 24 / 7 emergency and OR capabilities. St. Johns Hospital is a teaching facility for the University of Northern BC.

Attached to the hospital is Stuart Nechako Manor that has 45 long-term care beds.

Vanderhoof has a population of 4,500 (2021). Nestled in the fertile Nechako Valley, on the banks of the Nechako River, rural Vanderhoof is the geographical centre of the province of British Columbia.

Qualfications

  • Graduation from an accredited radiology technology program and current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiological Technologists (CAMRT) and eligible for membership with the BC Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (BCAMRT) and / or CAMRT
  • Must assume the responsibilities of the Head Technologist in their absence.

Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willing to work as a team member in a multidiscipline diagnostic department.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to organize work.
