Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead our Road Construction department. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution—from planning through completion—ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Vice President, you will provide strategic leadership to Project Managers and collaborate closely with field operations teams. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight for the road construction department. • Manage planning and execution of road construction projects to ensure safety, quality, and budget compliance. • Supervise and mentor Project Managers; maintain alignment between office and field operations. • Monitor project performance, budgets, and timelines; implement corrective actions as needed. • Develop and maintain client relationships; identify and secure new business opportunities. • Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour standards, safety regulations, and company policies. • Represent the company in industry meetings and community events. Qualifications • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) preferred. • 7–10 years of progressive experience in construction, preferably road construction. • Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, QA/QC testing, and OHS/environmental regulations. • Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and contract negotiation. • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office. Experience with Bid to Win is an asset. • Valid Class 5 driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites. • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various construction processes. • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes. • Ability to manage coordination efforts in construction projects with various parties, such as architects, project engineers, and landscaping installers. • Pre-employment drug screening in effect.
