Construction Foreman – Multi-Family

We are working with a well-established multi-family developer looking to add an experienced Construction Foreman to their team for a major new development in Sherwood Park.
This is an opportunity to join a stable, experienced construction team with a strong track record of delivering successful projects throughout Alberta. The company puts a significant emphasis on mentorship, internal development, and providing employees with opportunities to progress into more senior site leadership positions.
You will work alongside the Site Superintendent on a 200+ unit, 6-storey wood-frame mixed-use development with a concrete parkade, helping coordinate trades, maintain the construction schedule, oversee quality and safety, and keep day-to-day site operations moving efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Site Superintendent with daily site operations, scheduling, sequencing, and coordination.
- Coordinate subcontractors and trades to maintain productivity and avoid scheduling conflicts.
- Monitor trade performance and proactively resolve site issues that could impact schedule or quality.
- Review work against drawings, specifications, building codes, and project standards.
- Complete site inspections, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective work with trades.
- Maintain high standards of site safety, cleanliness, organization, and quality control.
- Coordinate material, equipment, and labour requirements to keep work progressing efficiently.
- Assist with material deliveries, procurement coordination, and minimizing waste and unnecessary costs.
- Participate in weekly construction meetings and provide updates on progress, quality, scheduling, and potential risks.
- Work with the Superintendent, Project Manager, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors throughout construction.
- Support inspections, commissioning, deficiency completion, occupancy, and project turnover.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of construction experience, with experience leading crews and trades on multi-family projects.
- Strong experience with wood-frame, low- to mid-rise residential construction.
- Concrete construction and/or parkade experience is a strong asset.
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, Lead Carpenter, or similar site leadership position.
- Trade background or certification in carpentry or another construction trade is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, sequencing, and building practices.
- Knowledge of Alberta safety requirements and construction regulations.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with trades while holding subcontractors accountable for schedule, safety, and quality.
- First Aid, CSTS, WHMIS, and other relevant safety certifications are considered assets.
