Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Estimator/Project Coordinator.
The hired candidate will work as a mechanical systems estimator to bid on projects for commercial plumbing and heating systems across central and northern British Columbia.
They will also support the team in the areas of project takeoffs, tracking, change orders, and other project based duties as required.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a solid understanding of mechanical & plumbing systems, ensuring that quotes and bids are creating a consistent pipeline of upcoming work. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to quality management.
The person who fits best will work well in a privately owned smaller company with opportunity to grow.

Duties

  • Forecasting costs in relation to mechanical, plumbing systems per project.
  • Collaborate to develop project specifications and requirements.
  • Manage requirements through effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Producing and managing quotes and bids in progress, providing guidance and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Employ time management techniques to prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines.

  • Proven experience in mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Experience in requirements management, ensuring all stakeholder needs are addressed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong team collaboration capabilities, with ability to work well in small company/growth oriented environment.

Requirements

-Legally entitled to work permanently in Canada

-Fluent in verbal and written English

-Strong computer skills, preference to experience with project software

-Technical understanding of building mechanical systems including construction, engineering processes

-Experience in commercial plumbing preferred

-2-3 years of estimation/project coordination experience
