    Salary range for the position is $62,239 to $89,469. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

    How will you create an impact?

    In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization, the Coordinator, Indigenous Patient Navigator (IPN) Program is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the standardization of the documents, file management systems, presentations, newsletters, communication and promotional tools, project management documents, clinical toolkits and resource pages, webpages, service descriptions and TeamSites. The Coordinator ensures a high level of quality control and standardization across all services and leads activities and projects related to quality improvement and standardization of these. The Coordinator works in collaboration with key partners, both internal and external to the IPN Program, with a commitment to the mission, vision, values, and strategic direction of the Indigenous Partnerships portfolio.

    What will you work on :

  • Provides leadership and expertise to promote a culture of standardization and a common look and feel for IPN Program resources. Coordinates the work of this standardization and quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Manager, Indigenous Patient Care, IPNs, and Director.
  • Develops and delivers training for IPNs focused on document quality, management, and standardization. Ensures completion of training and ongoing support including distribution of templates, standard work processes and communication tools. Evaluates the effectiveness of training and support methods and implements continuous improvement strategies.
  • Works with the Manager and IPNs to ensure follow through and coordination of briefing materials, presentations, reports, and proposals as required for project planning / committee meetings.
  • Implements, and monitors quality assurance standards for the IPN Program and ensures standards are clearly articulated. Evaluates and makes changes as needed.
  • Identifies emerging issues and new developments and makes recommendations regarding improvements to Manager and Director.
  • Undertakes specific activities / projects related to the functioning of the IPN Program, liaising with the IPNs and Clinical Operations to assess and monitor impacts.
  • Participates on project-specific working groups within the Indigenous Partnerships portfolio as required. Completes and maintains project and process documentation including establishing a tracking mechanism for issues, action items and lessons learned. Consults with partners and content experts as required. Communicates activities and project progress by preparing and distributing progress reports, developing presentations, and communicating approved material.
  • Aligns and integrates service improvement efforts with Clinical Operations to ensure consistency in objectives and positive impacts on quality and standardization.
  • Assists in establishing, implementing, and reporting performance objectives and indicators for the MHSU Network teams in order to monitor and evaluate performance and quality of service. Provides regular formal and informal reports on quality initiatives.
  • Ensures consistent information-sharing from the IPN Program occurs across IH using a variety of approaches such as Newsletters, learning sessions, videoconferences, and site visits. Posts and updates content to SharePoint, InsideNet, and the IH public website as required.
  • Responsible for supporting the Manager with the financial management of the department including budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting of expenditures including investigating and justifying variances.
  • In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, employees shall adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times and attend all required training. Employees are responsible to report any identified hazards, unsafe conditions or incidents to the manager or supervisor immediately.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
