Job Summary and Essential Duties :
The Process Engineer develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. This hands-on role involves working on manufacturing and measuring precision optics and contributing to team efforts.
Using On the Job Training (OJT) and prior experience, the Process Engineer will :
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting development projects, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; confer with equipment vendors; gather operator feedback.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
- Review customer drawings and requirements for manufacturability; collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure performance goals are met.
- Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and processes, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing capabilities.
- Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
- Maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
