Job description

The Junior Accountant’s responsibilities will include: Accounts Payable : Process vendor invoices, obtaining proper approval and verification.

Complete cheque and online payments, arranging pickup and mail outs with vendors and the property management team.

Review and balance the AP sub-ledger as well as clearing vendor statements.

Accounts Receivable : Processing and posting monthly charges and payments by homeowners and tenants.

Review and update preauthorized debits as requested from tenants and homeowners.

Provide monthly accounts receivable reports to property management team and note any outstanding balances.

General Accounting: Preparation of financial statements and detailed variance analysis.

Prepare journal entries and monthly accruals for monthly closing.

Assisting with budget creation and updating in Yardi.

Prepare HST reconciliation and the related remittances.

Assist with preparing year-end tenant operating and realty tax reconciliations.

Creating and processing charge back invoices, credit card reconciliations, and employee reimbursements.

Ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills: College Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; or equivalent experience.

Property Management and Yardi Voyager experience is an asset.

Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.

Excellent computer skills, with a proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office Products.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
