Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Property Claims Adjuster II to join our growing teams in Ajax and Mississauga!
As a Claims Adjuster II, Property, you’ll be at the heart of what we do best: helping people. You’ll work alongside a passionate and diverse team of adjusters who are experts in helping customers get back on track after a loss.
People will count on you to effectively communicate and settle property claims both online and over the phone. You will help our customers through difficult times, demonstrating empathy and strong listening skills as you investigate a wide variety of claims through to completion. You will be responsible for helping our customers using a variety of different technological tools in order to provide expedient and efficient service. Plus, we have multiple different roles within Claims, and that means tons of opportunity for you to grow your career in ways that are meaningful for you.
What you’ll do here:
- Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers, through proactive contact with the customer during the claims process.
- Assess and analyze policy wordings and damage to determine appropriate coverage.
- Investigate property claims in a timely manner through communication with the customer, vendors, experts, adjusters and any other related parties
- Negotiate with customers, third parties and insurers to settle claims, within your established authority scope.
- Stay in the know about current insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services.
What you bring to the table:
- A college diploma or a university degree is preferred
- Minimum 2 years of property adjusting experience. Experience in handling Condominium and/or Commercial lines preferred.
- Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and goal oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment
- Demonstrates strong problem solving and priority management skills
- Strong aptitude for technology with excellent computer skills
- On-going commitment to self-development
- Willing to pursue your Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
