Assistant controller Jobs in Vancouver, BC

Description Our client is a Vancouver-based private equity firm focused on smaller to medium-sized companies. Reporting directly to the Principals, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions including the following duties :

• Preparing monthly and yearly financial statements for the company, its subsidiaries and other holding companies
• Managing cash flow for the operating company
• Conducting financial analyses to support management decisions
• Leading the preparation of corporate, partnership returns, GST filings and other statutory requirements
• Developing and implementing tax strategies to assist with tax planning as needed
• Mentoring and supervising accounting staff

To be successful in this role, you must be a designated CPA with training from public practice and have a minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. Strong technical & analytical skills and excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with management, external customers and internal staff required. In addition, previous experience in the investments / financial services sector would be preferred.
