Job description

We Are
We’re a team of 35+ User Experience Research professionals at Oracle NetSuite, shaping the core elements of the NetSuite product. We are part of a larger community of 150+ Experience Designers, Content and UI Designers, Technical Writers, and other creative professionals across Oracle NetSuite. Collaborating closely with NetSuite leadership under Evan Goldberg, we contribute to Oracle’s Redwood design system.

Oracle is a technology leader transforming the way business is done. We value motivated, experienced individuals—thank you for considering this role. Come join us!

Your Role
As a Principal UX Researcher, you’ll lead research strategy and methodologies, ensuring research is fully integrated into product development. You’ll deliver insights that support the product vision and strategy for foundational NetSuite products - including onboarding, navigation, Ask Oracle, search, data management, and design systems—to provide a seamless, cohesive user experience.

You'll influence product strategy, inform product iteration, and measure user experiences to drive investment decisions. At the intersection of user needs, business priorities, and technology, you’ll uncover key insights about enterprise system users, guiding how we build for them. You’ll set research vision, mature our practice, and equip cross-functional partners for insight-led decisions.

You will bring structure to complexity and align product and design teams around strategic goals, moving comfortably between big-picture thinking and connecting the dots across workstreams.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 8+ years in user research, ideally in the enterprise domain; experience with foundational features (onboarding, navigation, search, design systems) is a plus.
  • Skilled in planning and executing research and usability activities—interviews, surveys, usability evaluations, etc.
  • Experience with research on AI experiences and using AI as a research tool.
  • Degree in Psychology, HCI, Human Factors, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
  • Comfortable in ambiguous environments, proactively determining necessary research.
  • Strong independence, ownership, and initiative in managing projects and priorities.
  • Passion for elevating research craft, mentoring, and fostering an effective research culture.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English for business and customer research.
  • Flexibility to work with distributed teams and travel (<5%) as needed across the US, Canada, Spain, Czech Republic, and the UK.
  • Familiarity with research platforms like Dscout, Zoom, survey tools, and research repositories.

Our Company Culture

  • We support and collaborate across teams.
  • We innovate with scalable, user-centered solutions.
  • We celebrate success and learn from failure.
  • We encourage all ideas and diverse thinking.
  • We strive to do what’s right for ourselves, our products, and our customers.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Enjoy productive, collaborative discussions.
  • Thrive in cross-functional team environments.
  • Take pride and ownership in your work and projects.
  • Stay updated on design trends, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Have a passion for continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute both strategic and tactical research.
  • Lead foundational and generative research on emerging needs, mental models, workflows, and platform dynamics.
  • Conduct evaluative research on key themes such as AI, analytics, navigation, onboarding, and design systems.
  • Map complex systems and dependencies to inform strategy and identify opportunities.
  • Work with Research Leadership to define research strategies for both near-term planning and long-term vision.
  • Synthesize research across studies and teams to reveal broad patterns and actionable insights.
  • Exercise judgment on research prioritization and approaches, leveraging existing evidence when appropriate.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to embed user-centric thinking in decision-making.
  • Mentor researchers, ensuring rigor and impactful outcomes aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate globally with the Foundations research team and a worldwide network of over 35 researchers.
  • Help establish strong research methodologies and processes for evidence-based design.
  • Foster user-centric processes to build empathy and improve the product experience.
  • Contribute to a global, scalable research practice.
