Software Developer Job Description

Duration : 36 weeks

Location : Hybrid 3 days a week onsite - Ottawa

We are looking for a Senior Developer with extensive experience in building custom Power Platform Applications with interfaces and integrated business process flows. The successful candidate will be responsible for updating features improving stability and optimizing flows for our pre-existing application. This role requires a deep understanding of the Development Test Staging and Production (DTSP) approach.

The OUTCAN Coordination and Support 2025 Fiscal year plan highlights several key initiatives and improvements. For SharePoint Online the Foreign Service Support site has been identified as a benchmark for VCDS Communication sites with site-level permission groups reduced to align with D365 / MS best practices. Additionally member folders were migrated from the main Document Library to a per Fiscal Year Document Library to enhance stability and follow best the Power Platform domain the OUTCAN Screening Application saw one full deployment and two updates along with the implementation of bi-weekly touchpoints and training for Screening Administrators. The screening process was streamlined by reducing required signatures and processes and user resources were enhanced through the Foreign Service User Group Teams Channel and Foreign Service Support SPO. Looking ahead the unit plans to digitize the OUTCAN Claims process using a custom Model-Driven Application connected to Dataverse.

Primary Responsibilities :

Design develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.

Manage and optimize Microsoft Access databases including queries forms and reports.

Develop and maintain Dataverse tables relationships and architecture.

Perform data migration between databases and systems ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.

Execute data extraction transformation and loading (ETL) from various sources.

Ensure data consistency accuracy and security across platforms.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.

Automate data workflows and reporting processes to improve efficiency.

Document data processes definitions and reporting standards.

Support data governance and compliance initiatives.

Provide training and support to end-users on data tools and reporting systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.

Must Have :

Must have Enhanced Reliability level clearance

Must clearly demonstrate 2 years of experience in he last 4 years of software development of any of the following applications

Power Platform development.

Custom Canvas and Model-Driven Power Applications.

Connecting flows to SharePoint Outlook Forms and Teams Approvals.

Must demonstrate at least 2 years knowledge of visualization tools for continuous monitoring and reporting such as Power BI
