Job description

Requisition ID: 250606

Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

As a Business Systems Analyst within Commercial Lending, you will play a critical role in enabling profitable growth, improving client experience, and strengthening risk management across our commercial lending portfolio. This role is designed for professionals with strong business acumen who are motivated by understanding how lending strategies, credit processes, and technology investments drive revenue, efficiency, and client outcomes in a large financial institution.

Working closely with Commercial Banking leaders, Credit, Risk, Operations, and Technology partners, you will translate business strategy into practical solutions that enhance how we originate, adjudicate, price, fund, and manage commercial loans. You will have a direct line of sight to how your work supports relationship managers, improves speed to yes for clients, and enables scalable growth across the Commercial Lending platform.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Partner with Commercial Banking, Credit, Risk, and Operations leaders to understand business strategy, revenue objectives, and client needs, and translate them into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Analyze end-to-end commercial lending processes (origination, credit adjudication, pricing, documentation, funding, and servicing) to identify opportunities to improve client experience, reduce turnaround time, and enhance risk controls.
  • Assess the business impact of proposed changes, including efficiency gains, cost reduction, revenue enablement, and risk mitigation, and clearly articulate value to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead discovery sessions with relationship managers, credit officers, and operational teams to capture business requirements, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
  • Document business requirements, use cases, and user stories that clearly reflect commercial lending workflows and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Delivery teams to ensure solutions align with business priorities, regulatory expectations, and operational realities.
  • Support testing, validation, and implementation activities to ensure delivered solutions meet business needs and are ready for adoption by front-line teams.
  • Develop change management and communication materials to support successful rollout and adoption across Commercial Banking teams.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business by proactively identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve data quality, and enable better management reporting.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role, with demonstrated exposure to business-facing stakeholders.
  • Strong business mindset with the ability to understand how processes, systems, and data drive financial performance, client experience, and risk outcomes.
  • Experience working in Commercial Banking, Commercial Lending, Credit, or Risk Management environments is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems, synthesize insights, and recommend practical, value-driven solutions.
  • Comfort engaging with senior business leaders and front-line teams, and translating between business and technical perspectives.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience using data to support business cases, performance measurement, and decision-making (advanced Excel required).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly in written, verbal, and visual formats.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, delivery-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile and traditional delivery methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches based on business needs.
  • Experience with commercial lending platforms or workflow tools is considered a strong asset.
