Senior Backend Java Developer (Bilingual: English/Spanish)
Location: Scarborough, ON (3 days onsite required weekly NO EXCEPTIONS)
Rate: Up to $55/hr on C2C
Experience: 8-12 years
Type: Contract/Full-time (specify as per your arrangement)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and support microservices-based architectures.
- Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Deploy, monitor, and support applications in Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Develop and optimize database solutions using SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Communicate effectively with global stakeholders, business, and technical teams in both English and Spanish.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with API integration and REST services.
- Proficiency with Azure Cloud services and deployments.
- Deep knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with application performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) is mandatory.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging frameworks.
- Prior work experience on global, distributed Agile teams.
Additional Requirements
- Onsite Requirement: Must be able and willing to work onsite in Scarborough 3 days per week.

- Bilingual (English and Spanish) communication is required for daily interactions with stakeholders and team members.
