At HOPE Pet Food, we believe in a world where nutritious and healthy food for pets is planet-friendly and where doing good is good business.

We are a growing Canadian B Corp creating the next generation of pet food with alternative proteins. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Community Engagement Manager to join our team.

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about pets, the environment and building engaging communities both online and offline.

The Position :

As a Community Engagement Manager, you will be instrumental in amplifying our presence and driving our mission forward through dynamic community initiatives, both online and at physical events.

This is a contract position funded through the IRAP youth program, specifically designed for recent graduates. There is potential for this position to become permanent based on performance and business needs.

We are seeking a dynamic community engagement manager who is passionate about pets, sustainability, and innovative nutrition.

This role is ideal for someone who is creative, data-driven, and eager to engage with a community of pet lovers.

Candidates located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will be preferred, as the role requires support for events primarily in this region.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement social media strategies that align with our brand values and business goals, and build loyalty among customers.
  • Create compelling, informative, and engaging content across various social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, , and TikTok).
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of social media campaigns, using data to drive future strategies.
  • Engage with our online community, responding to comments and messages, and fostering a positive environment.
  • Collaborate with others in the team to promote new products, initiatives, and company news.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Coordinate and represent the company at events (expos, trade shows, etc.) as required.

Qualifications :

  • Recent graduate eligible for IRAP funding (see eligibility here), holding a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • A natural curiosity and a strong desire to learn about the science of pet food, industry trends, consumer behavior, and new marketing techniques.
  • Proven experience in social media management and event coordination.
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Strong understanding of the best practices of major social media platforms (such as Instagram , Tiktok and ) and event management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Creative thinker and proactive problem solver with a solution-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in social media analytics and content management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
