Do you want to lead a dedicated and committed Maintenance Department? Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Mobile Equipment Supervisor who takes a detailed and organized approach to preventative and autonomous maintenance tasks.
As a Mobile Equipment Supervisor for Heidelberg Materials you will be able to create a safe environment and supervise our Mobile Mechanics and Millwrights as required.
You will be able to plan, budget, and execute small projects for upgrading plant equipment. You will troubleshoot and look for more efficient ways to solve equipment problems.
This role is based in Picton, ON and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Picton is located in Prince Edward County, an island in Lake Ontario where you come to fall in love with food, drink, nature, art, and community all over again.
What you’ll get to do
- Oversee the work performed by maintenance crews and outside contractors as required for each job to ensure completion in a timely and quality manner.
- Proactively managing health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance.
- Provide development of direct reports and motivate staff resulting in a reliable and competent work force.
- Manages any urgent or breakdown jobs as required to keep equipment running and minimize downtime.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance staff for problem resolution.
- Develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of mechanical expenditures, and procedures for equipment maintenance.
- Develop weekly work plan for 3 mobile mechanics.
- Monitor the acquisition and use of materials to meet productivity and budgetary goals.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the mobile equipment maintenance function as well as some fixed assets with supervision of Millwrights.
- Ensure compliance requirements are met through organizational and procedural measures including implementation of corporate guidelines, conducting training, and monitoring compliance.
What We Are Looking For
- Equipment repair and maintenance experience; supervisory experience.
- Licensed Heavy-Duty Mechanic license preferred.
- Solid understanding of preventive / predictive / corrective maintenance principles and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate others.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking, and decision making.
- Strong communication skills to ensure coordination of work and completion of tasks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project and working knowledge of SAP preferred.
Work Environment
Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
