We are seeking to identify a Director of Finance reporting to the President to join our client’s team in the Greater Toronto area.
Our client is a dynamic, stable, and growing technology company and the Director of Finance position is a high visibility role reporting to the President with the opportunity to lead the finance function and drive impact and growth in an already incredibly profitable company.
Director of Finance Responsibilities :
Serve as a change agent, driving strategic initiatives and contributing to the evolution of our business model for sustainable growth.
Work closely with the business to create and track key KPIs and metrics to monitor overall business performance
Provide strategic support to senior leadership including preparation of the financial aspects of the monthly and quarterly reporting packages and the annual AOP deliverables, leadership / planning meetings, and ad hoc information as required
Provide leadership to the Finance team and coaching the team in their development in support of their growth and success
Develop and build financial models to support the annual budget, three-year projection and monthly / quarterly rolling forecast through partnering with the business to develop and agree on the key assumptions underlying the financial models ensuring commitments are achieved and take required action if necessary
Develop ad hoc financial models and analysis in support of the company’s operating business as well as its strategic initiatives
Conduct and lead the annual financial planning exercise with the leadership team
Maintain compliance standards and reporting requirements on financial, tax, legal, contract reviews etc.
Support the monitoring of cash flow through financial modelling process
Identify business risks and opportunities that arise through the financial modeling process and ensure these are summarized and presented to Senior Leadership on a regular basis
Provide decision support analysis to business partners such as product and customer profitability, pricing analysis
Manage all vendor contracts ensuring adherence to policies are maintained
Keep abreast of industry changes that affect financial controls, tax, and legal requirements relating to the business
Audit payroll to ensure accuracy and compliance to policies
Analyze and report actual results compared to budget and forecast estimates, preparing appropriate variance explanations, bridge analyses and key financial metrics as part of the month-end and quarter- end packages
Develop ad hoc research regarding competitors, market trends, and pricing trends
Experience and Qualifications
Exceptional analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
Experience in a leadership role with a finance team accountable for the broader range of financial accountabilities
University degree in financial discipline and / or equivalent experience
CPA or CA or working towards
Strong financial and business acumen with adherence to policies
Experience with US GAAP and presenting to stakeholders and shareholders
Ability to drive changes needed to automate processes and minimize manual effort and re-work
Deliver on results and maintain financial controls
Minimize risk through adherence to compliance standards and operating methods ensuring financial discipline in all that we do
Some travel may be required to the US
