AsanAzureDeveloper,you willbe responsible forowning and continuously enhancing an internal developer portal built on a SaaS foundation. This portal serves as the central hub for engineering teams, integrating public APIs, webhooks, and custom UI/UX components designed with jQuery and modern JavaScript frameworks to deliver a seamless developer experience.
You will architect andmaintainPython-based microservicesleveraging frameworks such asFastAPI, Django, and Flask, building bothRESTful and asynchronous APIs. Your work will span acrossrelational and NoSQL databases, ensuring scalable and reliable data management.
On the infrastructure side, you willdeploy andoperateservices on Azure, while alsoleveragingDocker, Kubernetes, and serverless technologiesto support diverse workloads. You will define andoptimizeCI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code templates, and automated testing workflows, enabling rapid, secure, and consistent delivery.
Security and reliability are core to the role. You will implemententerprise-grade authentication mechanisms(OAuth2, OpenID, SSO), enforcehigh availability and compliance baselines, and troubleshoot complex production issues tomaintainoptimalperformance.
Beyond technical delivery, you will play a leadership role: conductingarchitecture and code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across product and platform teams to align on best practices. Candidates with contributions toopen sourceprojects, technical blogs, or experience with platforms like Backstage orTemporal.iowill be highly valued, as thesedemonstratethought leadership and community engagement.
Experiences and skillsyou’lluse to solve
Proven 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Engineering, delivering complex production solutions with deepproficiencyin Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage Gen2. Expert in SQL, Python,PySparkfor large-scale processing, diverse data ingestion (real-time, APIs, SFTP), and designing end-to-end ELT, data warehousing (star schema), and data lake (Medallion) architectures, alongside required DP-203 certification (or commitment to obtain).
Skilled in building, deploying, and optimizing scalable Azure cloud-native applications (App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, AKS) using C#, Python, or JavaScript. Drives automation through CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Bicep) for efficient resource provisioning and management.
Ensures application reliability, security, and cost-efficiency by implementing robust monitoring, logging, and compliance practices. Effectively collaborates with architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to align solutions with organizational goals.
Deep understanding of data storage optimization within ADLS Gen2, including file formatselection(e.g., Delta, Parquet), partitioning strategies, and data lifecycle management for cost and performance.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex, ambiguous data problems in a production environment, including performance tuning and root cause analysis.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Azure Cloud Application Development:Expert in designing, building, deploying, and optimizing scalable applications on Microsoft Azure using services like App Services, Functions, AKS, and integrating APIs/messaging systems.
Full-Stack & Microservices Development:Strongproficiencyin Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask) for RESTful/asynchronous microservices, alongside C# and modern JavaScript/jQuery for front-end development and internal developer portal enhancement.
DevOps & Cloud Automation:Expertisein defining and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Bicep), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless technologies.
Data Management:Proficient in working with both relational and NoSQL databases for scalable and reliable data solutions.

The salary range for this position is $112,400 - $162,400. The posted salary rangerepresentsthe expected hiring range for PwC locations in major citycentres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary isdeterminedby your skills, experience,qualificationsand work location.In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
