We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.
About the role:
Are you a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Business Systems Analyst, or Solutions Architect with a background in Payments? Do you excel in client-facing roles, enjoy unpacking complex problems, and have a natural curiosity for how payment systems operate behind the scenes? If so, this opportunity could be a great fit.
We’re looking for a solutions-driven professional who combines deep payments and fintech expertise with strong technical fluency, particularly around API-based products. You know how to translate client needs into secure, scalable payment solutions, and you thrive in collaborative environments—working seamlessly across sales, product, compliance, architecture, and directly with clients.
About the day-to-day:
- Architect and document end‑to‑end fund flows, recommending the right Payments products (e.g. Fast Funds, EFT , Virtual Accounts, Interac e-Transfer, etc.) based on client use cases and compliance or network requirements.
- Create and present fund flow diagrams for internal teams and clients, gathering and incorporating feedback in a consultative, solutions‑focused manner.
- Support sales conversations by uncovering client requirements and clearly articulating payment capabilities and technical considerations.
- Troubleshoot integration and transaction issues across APIs and networks in sandbox environments, ensuring smooth testing and implementation.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout client onboarding, guiding stakeholders through to implementation.
About the qualifications:
- 4+ years in a client-facing technical role, ideally within Payments or Fintech (e.g. Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Technical Account Manager, Business Systems Analyst, or Solutions Architect) facing technical role (e.g.,
- Strong understanding of payment rails, issuing/acquiring, and API‑driven financial platforms is a significant asset
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, business‑oriented language for both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Experience creating technical diagrams, workflow/process flow maps, and end‑to‑end payment flows using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, or similar platformsOperates with a strong sense of urgency and communicates with clarity—excellent written and verbal communication, presentation abilities, and a high level of attention to detail
- Highly self‑driven, outcomes‑focused, and comfortable taking ownership with minimal oversight
- Intermediate understanding of APIs and ability to support troubleshooting in staging or sandbox environments using testing tools (e.g. Postman) is considered an asset.

About the work environment:
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Hiring process:

Compensation:
The expected salary for this role is approximately $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
