The Role:
As a Hair Styling & Barbering Instructor, you'll be at the heart of NIWE Academy's mission—empowering students with industry-leading skills, mentorship, and career readiness. You'll lead hands-on training for cohorts of 15+ students, delivering a curriculum that combines technical excellence with entrepreneurial thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
- ✅ Deliver World-Class Instruction: Teach advanced hairstyling and barbering techniques aligned with Alberta Red Seal standards and NIWE's proprietary curriculum
- ✅ Mentor & Inspire: Provide personalized coaching, track student progress, and support achievement of learning outcomes
- ✅ Curriculum Innovation: Collaborate with the Academy Dean to develop and refine lesson plans, assessments, and hybrid learning materials
- ✅ Industry Partnerships: Build relationships with local salons and barbershops to secure student placements and job opportunities
- ✅ Classroom Leadership: Manage resources, maintain a professional learning environment, and model industry standards
- ✅ Stay Cutting-Edge: Attend workshops, trend seminars, and industry events to bring the latest techniques to your students
- ✅ Represent NIWE: Be a brand ambassador at open houses, career fairs, and community events
Requirements:
- ✔ Alberta Red Seal Certification (or equivalent provincial/international credential)
- ✔ 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in a salon or barbershop post-apprenticeship
- ✔ Adult education certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- ✔ Technical expertise across diverse hair types, textures, and styles
- ✔ Leadership skills with a passion for mentorship and student success
- ✔ Digital literacy: Comfortable with learning management systems and hybrid education tools
- ✔ Collaborative mindset: Thrives in a high-performance, team-oriented culture
