Aquatics Programmer (Seasonal)
Town of BlackfaldsBlackfalds- Full-time
Dive into an exciting leadership role with our team!
We’re looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Aquatic Programmer to help shape the future of our aquatic programs. In this role, you’ll create, deliver, and evaluate engaging swim experiences that keep our community learning, growing, and having fun in the water.
You’ll support our amazing instructors to ensure every lesson meets Lifesaving Society Swim Program standards, and you’ll guide our aquatic volunteers so they feel confident, supported, and clear on their responsibilities.
This is also a hands-on position—so you’ll jump in as a lifeguard or swim instructor when needed, keeping your skills sharp and staying connected to the action on the pool deck.
You’ll also work closely with the Aquatics Coordinator on the behind-the-scenes magic that keeps our facility running smoothly, including basic mechanical operations and chemical balancing.
If you love building great programs, supporting people, and making a splash in your community, this role is the perfect fit!
- You’re passionate about growth and always looking for ways to elevate our programs and customer experience.
- You shine in front of people —whether it’s supporting staff or helping guests, you bring positivity, professionalism, and a friendly touch.
- Communication is your superpower. You share information clearly, confidently, and with ease.
- You’re a natural leader who builds strong teams, inspires others, and knows how to bring out everyone’s best.
- You make smart, timely decisions and approach challenges with strong analytical thinking.
- You’re organized, strategic, and love solving problems —even the tricky ones.
- You create an uplifting environment where aquatic staff feel supported, motivated, and ready to succeed.
- You’re an encouraging mentor who helps others grow their skills and exceed industry expectations.
- You thrive in a busy environment, working smoothly with many co‑workers, instructors, and team members at once.
- You’re tech‑savvy and confident using general computer tools, especially Microsoft Office and Outlook.
