SRC CAN Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of SRC Inc.

and is helping to shape the future EW, Counter-Uncrewed Aircraft System (CUAS) and Radar technologies that will support the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and its allies.

The Job SRC CAN Ltd is seeking a Junior Software Developer to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of next-generation EW Operational Support Systems (EWOSS) including Intelligence Mission Data (IMD) and Operational Mission Data (OMD) product solutions for the Department of National Defence (DND).

Reporting to the Senior Staff Software Developer, this role will leverage software engineering skillsets to support the SRC enterprise portfolio of signals intelligence (SIGINT) and EW suite of advanced software including Radio Frequency (RF) modeling and simulation products.

This role requires strong technical and data engineering skills, collaboration, and familiarity with Agile methodologies such as the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.

Location: Hybrid - Ottawa, Ontario. We operate in a hybrid working environment.

Normally, you will work out of the SRC CAN Ltd office.

What You’ll Do: Work with subject matter and domain experts to elicit software requirements.

Contribute to software design, development, testing, and integration within an Agile environment.

Contribute to continuous improvement across software development and processes.

Monitor, manage, and report project status.

What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think independently, and overcome technical challenges.

Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

Excellent English verbal/written communication skills.

Proficiency in French is an asset.

Candidates must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control and security regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program, and be eligible to hold a Government of Canada Level 2 (Secret) Security Clearance. Additional (Preferred) Requirements: Applied knowledge and experience with container technologies.

Applied knowledge and experience with Java, Typescript, and Python.

Applied knowledge and experience with React.

Applied knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL.

Applied knowledge and experience in VS Code.

Applied knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines.

Applied knowledge and experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.

Comfortable working in cross-functional roles.

Excited to develop distributed software systems.

Excited to engage in the Electronic Warfare Lifecycle domain.

Additional Information Total compensation for this role is market competitive.

The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Ottawa, ON, is estimated at $60,000 to $87,550 annually.

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s EW domain knowledge, Software engineering experience, technical skills, and abilities, as well as other business and organizational needs.

We operate in a hybrid working environment with all staff being able to work remotely.

Normally, you will work out of the SRC CAN Ltd office, (Gloucester, Ottawa, ON) and when required, in Department of National Defense (DND) facilities, such as the Shirley’s Bay and Tunney’s Pasture areas within the National Capital Region (NCR).
